Join the Abridge Surgery Patient Group

The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients who care about Abridge Surgery and want to help improve it. You don’t need to be a doctor or nurse – just someone who uses the surgery and wants to share ideas.

Why Does the PPG Exist?

The PPG works with the surgery to:

• Share what patients think and need
• Help the surgery improve services
• Make sure patient voices are heard

We want people from all backgrounds to join, so we hear many different views.

What Does the Group Do?

• Meet every 12 weeks to talk about the surgery
• Help make changes that benefit all patients
• Support the surgery with new ideas
• Help plan patient events like health talks
• Share feedback from other patients

The group does not handle personal complaints — there’s a different process for that.

Who Can Join?

Any patient at Abridge Surgery can join. Sometimes, other professionals are invited too. A member of staff from the surgery will also be part of the group. Everyone should work together in a respectful way.

What Happens at Meetings?

Before each meeting, we send out a list of topics (called an agenda). If you can’t come, you can still share your ideas with the group.

After the meeting, notes (called minutes) are shared with all members so everyone knows what was discussed and decided.

We will then contact you to see whether you would like to join us and discuss the role further.
